BUY AMERICAN

A few months ago I decided my toolbox was lacking and air hammer and was tired of using the shop's old wore out CP long barrel. The first place I checked was the Matco truck that stops by every week. I checked out the less expensive Silver Eagle line and found them to be overpriced and kind of cheap. They were also made in China and I don't buy chinese tools. I then asked about the top of the line Matco model wich was almost 300 bucks. I figured it was worth the price for a good American made tool until it came in a few weeks later. The stupid thing was made in Taiwan! I told the guy that I didn't want it and he suggested Florida Pneumatic because he was sure they were made in the US. Well, the Matco guy didn't show up for a few weeks after that so I decided to just buy one on Amazon. For half the price of the Matco hammer I was able to get a pneumatic drill and the FP1010 hammer both American made.
One thing about the hammer and drill is that they are red and not black. The images that are used on Amazon must be old. And the chuck on the hammer is not the same as in pictures. It actually it came with one of those piece of crap spring checks, but I had already planned on putting a quick release chuck on it anyway. The hammer works great though. I work as a heavy duty diesel mechanic and it holds up just fine to the kinds of work I do on a daily basis. It knocks out busted wheel studs in seconds and makes quick work of tierod ends and other suspension components. I havn't tried any kind of cutting with it yet but I don't see why it wouldn't work. The warranty is also 2 years compared to all the other major brands 1 year. Over all it's a great tool at a great price.
