Nice upgrade
By Bob
I've used the BHP452Z model every day for a few years, but needed a back up when it started acting up (replaced brushes and trigger, good as new now). After buying and trying this model out, the 452 has been retired.
This is a big upgrade in power and feel. Drilling 3/4 and 1 1/8 inch holes with paddle bits takes less time now with less lockups and less battery changes. I've never driven a porsche before, but I would say this is what it must feel like.
My only extremely minor gripe is that the mini light doesn't turn on when the trigger is locked out, but something like that is hardly ever a real world issue.

Best in it's Class..
By Chas
I have owned quite a few different Cordless Drills and none compare to my Makita LXPH03Z. I have owned Dewalt's, Milwaukee's and Porter Cable's. This is my second Makita Cordless Drill, I still use my older one for light and dirty work (model BHP452). I bought this one because of the 750 lbs of torque compared to my older model which has 450 lbs.. There is definitely a noticeable difference in power. I do allot of drilling into cement/concrete for Tap-Cons and anchors. My older drill with less power never gave me any problems, always performed any task that I would throw at it and having such good luck with it I decided to upgrade to this model. I am looking forward to many years of the same performance and reliability from my new Makita hammer drill. Makita drills are the only ones that I would recommend to a friend.

Best drill you can buy....period.
By DrumGuy
I've been using Makita's lithium tools for a few years now, and I love them. As an HVAC installer I use my Makita tools EVERY day. From drilling into concrete to fastening screws in sheetmetal, these tools are a real powerhouse. They can stand up to the harsh environments that I put them through; hot attics, cold winters, blinding dust, and yes...a few drops. The 18 volt line up has fast charging on the batteries, great feel and balance on the drills, and they are hard working all around. Naturally when the LXPHO3Z entered the scene touting the "highest torque in the industry" at 750 lbs of torque, I had to get it. This drill is a beast! It has good weight and balance just like all of Makita's other drills, short length for those tough spots, and yes, the torque is the best I have seen. Matched with its 2000 rpm high speed, it can drill through wood studs and thick steel like they are paper. The hammer feature blows right through brick and block with ease, which makes my job a lot easier and faster. There are more great features to this awesome drill, but I'll let you uncover those on your own.
