Gave up on my Makita for this drill.

When I looked at this the first time it was perfect for me, here are the reasons why: I couldn't believe the huge amount of torque this thing the most I've seen in a drill which is great if you have to hole saw or step drill all of the time. The second thing I liked about this is the balance of it, it's not top heavy, front heavy when you have it in your hands it feels centered perfectly. Another thing I like about this drill is that it has a very short length to it, so you can get into tight places easier with this drill. The light is way brighter than my Makita is and I was always envious about Milwaukee having a power gauge on their batteries. I was a full on Makita fan but now I'm making a switch to Milwaukee, this was the first thing I'm getting next I'm getting a Hackzall which I've used and has way better ergonomics than a regular sawzall. I've been wanting to switch for a while but when I saw the FUEL that was when I took the leap and I'm happy that I did.
Update: really hold on to the drill when you are using a hole saw. this thing has so much torque it will not stop on the low speed. just be ready to let off the trigger if it catches on something.

This is by far the best drill/driver I've ever owned.. corded or cordless. You get the drill and two high-end batteries for basically the cost of the batteries alone. I used it constantly all day long screwing down metal roofing and still had 1/3 battery left. On the way back to the shop I used it to change a flat tire. Checked the lug nuts torque when I got back, they were 85 ft. lbs. I'm sold!

Milwaukee 2604 5 Star Drill

I've owned a Milwaukee 2601 (drill only), kit for about 3 years. It has been a great drill never failing to do the job. These (unfortunately), are not the old days of $60 corded tools and buying a unit these days requires investing some time doing research...especially when batteries cost what a complete drill used to cost!
I admittedly did work my way up thru a few other brands (Porter-C and Dewalt), before buying my 2601. I have been so impressed with the Milwaukee, i just had to have this 2604 hammer drill to go along with it.
This 2604 really did not fail to impress me. High torque, good battery life and quick charge...everything I expected from a tool of this quality. The tool feels well balanced. There have been no disappointments with this unit. I do not live in a cold climate so the only thing I can not commment on is battery performance in cold weather. There is no point buying just a drill these days when a hammer drill cost about the same and is far more useful. Definitely 5 Stars for this baby.
