Better than the Milwaukee that smoked yesterday

I needed to drill two 3/4" holes through a recently poured 12" concrete foundation wall. I had a craftsman that was around 10 years old and it's chuck broke. I couldn't get it off to replace it so I had to buy another drill. I picked up a Milwaukee 5376-20 yesterday from a local Home Despot. It ran for about 5 minutes and then started smoking, literally. The motor burned itself out. That and the speed control on it was not very good at keeping to a slower speed. Lesson learned.
I went to a local Lowes and picked up this DeWalt. I needed to drill the holes TODAY and, honestly, if it smoked like the Milwaukee I just don't have the time to deal with returns. Next time when I've more time I'll certainly buy from Amazon via Prime.
Meanwhile, the work here... same bit, same foundation, but a night-and-day difference! The DeWalt pounded right through the foundation without a complaint. The trigger was useful in keeping to slower speeds to avoid wrecking the bit. Now, in fairness, this is a $40-more-expensive drill and it has a two speed gearbox.
If you're looking for a decent mid-range hammer drill then consider this one, it's worked well for me.

Dont buy it !!!

At first the drill worked ok, except the handle wouldn't stay on and the chuck wouldn't stay tight. About every 30 seconds I would have to re tighten the chuck. After drilling less than 50 holes (about a dozen in masonry) the damn drill just stopped working. It didnt smoke or give any indication anything was wrong it just crapped out.
This is a cheap poorly made drill. Save you money and buy something of quality.
