Almost as good as the first one
By Derek A. Jackson
I bought the 28 volt hammer drill and saw when they first came out 4 or 5 years ago. Last fall I was in Haiti working and I loaned it to a local and he dropped it and cracked the housing. I bought this bare tool to get back up to speed and it has performed wonderfully. It does have more plastic parts than the original but it is still a beast, love it. Drives lags and long screws with no trouble into real 2x4 that were over 100 years old in a recent renovation that I was doing, my 18 volt Dewalt would not get the job done.

Milwaukee 0726-20 M28 1/2 -inch Hammer Drill/Driver
By Paul Falcum
No problem with Amazon, but the tool is not as strong as the V28 gun it was to replace. The first day I got it I took it into the field to do a job and with the clutch set to max it didn't have enough power to drive a heavy wood screw an 1 1/2 long into a 2x4. I immediately sent it back to Milwaukee. They sent it back with no problem found and underlined the amount of torque it has with the clutch. I have sent it back with the type of screw that I use and am waiting to see what happens.
If you are a professional like me then stay away from this gun or try to find the older version (V28 not M28) There is plenty of power in drill mode, but if you rely on a clutch then DO NOT BUY! I don't know why Milwaukee would replace the old one with a weaker one.
I am very disappointed.

Powerful little drill
By Pablo Divine
I am not a pro, but do build a lot of stuff -- both large and small; buildings and furniture; fences and repairs. I really enjoy using this tool. I got an extra battery. And have a charger with a Sawzall kit. I am amazed at the power this has while drilling through 6" - 8" pressure treated posts. It has a feature that turns it off if the torque goes too high to protect the motor. And it does so frequently while I attempt to drive in lag bolts. The dial for switching between drill, hammer needs to be set properly or else it will malfunction. I think it would not engage the power to the bit in that case. Otherwise, love it.
