Being a Hitachi fan I was really dissapointed after a really bad experience with the China-Made Hitachi (FDV16VB2) that caught fire right out of the box!(believe it or not!)
I looked around for another reliable light-medium duty hammer drill for typical home usage.
And I am glad to have made this choice.With this beast, I was able to quickly raise the walls of my tool-shed by anchoring the red head screws into the concrete.
Pros:
* Rated for 5/8" for concrete compared to others which are 1/2" (or 4/8":) ).
* Also My drill didn't heat up at all even after 8-10 hours of hammer duty! also
* Did not end up burning any of the (bosch) hammer bits
Cons:
* The Grip could've been more ergonomic especially for people with large hands like mine.(Porter is fine on that front)
* The Auxillary handle could've been metallic one like in porter cable/Dewalt hammer-drills.
The Amp rating and the BPM is better than the other comparable single speed hammer models I had looked at were:
* Porter Cable (Model PC650HD)
* Dewalt (DW511)
* Of course the Hitachi Lemon
Is it time to paint my workshop Bosch-blue from Hitachi-green? perhaps not but yes, I'd recommend this tool and brand to my friends as well.

Relatively powerful - but not the workhorse I thought I was getting

Did OK drilling holes in older cement. But if you run it too hard it gets really hot and grease drips out of it.

Small contractor/Big Homeowner projects.

I had been using my Dad's 6-year-old Makita with a keyless chuck. There were a few design flaws with this drill #1: The 9 various bits which it came with had circular shanks and not hexagonal. 2#: the chuck was keyless (the only one I've seen in recent years in a hammer drill) #3: The supplied drill bits that came with the drill were far too short.
All of these reasons led to constant slippage of the bit regardless of pressure or any other procedure listed in the manual.
I became so frustrated with the masonry drilling for mounting studs on my basement wall that I went to Menard's and given a choice between a MasterForce $10 cheaper or this Bosh. I like my other MasterForce products but Bosh has a good rep and this model was given 5 out of 5 stars by popular mechanics. Their biggest gripe was that there was no lanyard for the chuck key. Which would be easy enough to make yourself out of any old crap.
I tried it out and have been using it for a few days. I am mounting studs into concrete with a combination of toenailing and masonry screws. Very happy with the performance. Recommended for those who fall into the category in above title.
