I will never buy Ryobi ever again!

I have done constuction most of my life. I have never used a crappier tool than this. I purchased this to replace my Milwakee (which the reostat went out so only had one speed, still worked better than this piece of garbage). I had only 12 1/2 inch holes to drill about 4 inches deep. I was putting in anchor bolts on the bottom plate of a long section of railing. The bit would not go more than an inch through the slab more than half the holes i tried to drill. I thought i might have been hitting rebar but it did not matter where i drilled. On top of that the bit would eventually fall out of the chuck. EVERY FREAKING HOLE AT LEAST TWICE! So I finally went to home depot and got another bit thinking maybe its the bit and not the drill. Wrong, it was the drill no change still wont drill. Ended up just using the old Milwakee. It took me half the day to do a 15 minute job. I will never get that time back Ryobi should not make tools. I wish I could rate this with zero stars. I hope this review helps. DONT BUY!

NOT long lasting

I bought this drill because it was cheap and I do not need a hammer drill often, This drill was happy drilling through masonary block. But when I got to drilling through Brick the hammer action deadened out and the drill became ineffective. Also I found the handle had to be really tightened strongly or it would come loose. The whole construction seems a bit shoddy. I was so angry because it died in the middle of the second job I did with it. I did not have time to wait for a replacement so I went and bought a Metabo at six times the price, but at least I do not have any more down time. I would seriously recommend spending a little bit more money if you need the hammer function.

I had a new Ryobi hammer drill that I used to install a lot of metal walls to a concrete slab. After 5 years I simply wore out the transmission. I ordered this rebuilt unit and it's exactly what I wanted and needed.
