Don't let 'Reconditioned' scare you

Yeah, I was scared when I purchased it. I've never been a fan of reconditioned items but the reviews were good and the seller offered a warranty. I've heard good things about Ridgid and the price was within my budget. I took the chance, wondering if I was to regret it later. Since my purchase, I've used this drill for many jobs both large and small with no issues. The bag is compact but very easy to handle with plenty of room for drill bits and such. For the amount of torque it produces the batteries hold up great. Would I buy another? Heck yeah!! (and most likely I will very soon)

Excellent value for the Refurbished package!

I chose this drill because it was the third highest drill on Consumer Reports and people gave it excellent ratings. It has all the features I was looking for (including TWO batteries) and when I stumbled across the refurbished price, I couldn't pass it up.I just received the drill today and have put it to good use already. This drill has everything you want in a cordless drill with the exception of missing levels which I did occasionally use on my old Craftsman Professional (Which I threw away due to 4 faulty batteries.) Speaking of batteries, both batteries came fully charged on arrival. This was nice because I was able to use the drill immediately which I happened to need. I'll write a review update down the road after I've lived with it for a while.
The Good:
Price. - This refurbished package is 60-80% off the "new" price.
Power - Outstanding.
2 Speeds - Very helpful for screws vs. Drilling.
24 Torque settings. - Can dial in exactly what you need.
LED light - Automatically comes on when using drill. Very helpful (why didn't they think of this sooner?)
LED light Switch - Can turn it on without having to turn the drill on.
LED Charge indicator on the batteries (Why don't they all do this?!)
Reversible Belt Clip
Light weight
Add-on / Removable Handle. Great for heavy duty drilling days like building a deck or simply for stability and leverage.
Bit holder.
Keyless Chuck. Clicks in place and offers good tactical feel.
TWO batteries.
First class Charger full of indicator lights to let you know exactly what's is going on.
Storage bag is handy and appears brand new.
The Not-So-Good
One year warranty vs. Lifetime warranty for a new one. I didn't know this before I bought it.
Clearly a used unit. A bit dirty but no major scratches or scars.
'RECON' is melted on both batteries and the drill always reminding you that you got out cheap. Quite tacky really.
Storage bag feels flimsy for having to hold so much weight. Would have preferred a hard plastic case.
Packaging of batteries were in different sized zip-lock bags and came across as very unprofessional and a bit scary upon opening.

I bought this because the batteries fit my old Ridgid tool as well. The new drill is lighter and the batteries charge faster. And the whole thing cost the same as a new battery by it self.
